IN 'SHARANYAM' DISCIPLES OF SHOVANA NARAYAN UNITES ON HER 75th B'DAY

Asavari Centre for Kathak recently hosted a special evening named 'Sharanyam' in honor of the renowned Kathak maestro, Padmashri Guru Shovana Narayan, marking her 75th milestone year. The event took place on August 22nd, 2024, at the esteemed Stein Auditorium, located within the India Habitat Centre on Lodhi Road in New Delhi. The evening delivered an enchanting voyage into the realm of Kathak, featuring Guruji’s disciples from various corners of the globe who united to present her iconic creations. Ranging from the youngest to the most experienced dancers, the performance served as a tribute to Guruji's enduring legacy and the profound influence she has wielded in the realm of Kathak.



The occasion was adorned with distinguished figures from the realms of art and culture, with notable attendees such as Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Dr. Sonal Mansingh, Sharon Lowen, Prathibha Prahlad, Sunit Tandon, Sanjoy Roy, Sashwati Sen, Rama Pandey, Kamal Modi, Santosh Bagrodia, Joyshree Arora, Alaknanda Kathak, Shinjini Kulkarni, and Ravindra Misra. 'Sharanyam' served as an opportunity to witness the enchanting artistry of Guru Shovana Narayan through the perspectives of her dedicated disciples. Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, the esteemed Guest of Honor, conveyed his appreciation by stating, "This event encapsulates a blend of sentiments, fondness, and reverence for Shovana ji.
