An Indian classical music workshop upon Tabla was held on 10th September 2017 at Sangeet Kanan, Baihata Chariali from 10 am onwards. The workshop was inaugurated by the Principal of the Baihata Chariali Sangeet Kanan, Mr Chanakya Sarma along with Mr. Siddhartha Das, Director, Pratishruti Foundation. The resource artiste for the menioned workshop was Ustad Julfikar Hussain, a well known Tabla Player of the State and the disciple of great Ustad Late Afaq Hussain Khan of Lucknow Gharana. The workshop continued upto 2 pm and participants showed great interest in learning and executing different techniques taught during the workshop.
Workshops as such are essential to be hosted from time to time to keep the energy within the learning students as well as making the traditional subject more viable.
